Mission

I want to help you achieve the best version of your project, whether that is a novel, blog, article, newsletter, or something else just as important to you. It’s very difficult, as the writer, to see the errors in your own work. Being so close to the subject matter, your mind’s eye sees what it believes to be there, you fill in things that are missing or incorrect. I want to be your second set of eyes who finds those errors and corrects them so you can publish with confidence.

Background

I have often been the go-to for family, friends, co-workers and others for all things word-related. I innately view all mediums, such as magazines, billboards, menus, etc., with a critical eye. But let me give you a little background that began in my childhood. My mother had a library in our basement, complete with a Dewey Decimal System from which we had to borrow books and, of course, return them by their due date. Thus began my love of the written word.

Experience

I have had the privilege of working with a best-selling author on three of her full-length novels.

I have worked with Distributed Proofreaders for a couple of years. This organization takes books that are now in the Public Domain and converts them into ebooks. There are several proofreading steps the project must go through prior to its release. It is very rewarding to be involved in something that brings life to a potentially forgotten piece of work.

In addition, I have been involved with an overseas website designer writing product descriptions for unique and unusual furniture.

Believing can make your dreams come true

Susan is the perfect second set of eyes for any writing project. She has a good sense of the difference between a grammar error and a purposeful breaking of grammar rules for reasons of style. That’s key to proofreading novels. Normally, I’m good at proofreading. But by the time I finish a novel I’ve rewritten so much I tend to read right past typos. Luckily, Susan finds them! I’ve used Susan for three of my most recent books and look forward to working with her in the future.

As a first time author the process of writing my first children’s book was scary enough, but now I needed someone to edit my “baby.” I was so glad that my first experience with editing was with someone like Susan. She was very thoughtful and encouraging and her turn around time surprised me! Thank you for all your help!

Susan Rheingruber is a very caring person and a great coach when it comes to editing. She not only will offer honest points to a draft, but she’ll do so in a way that helps an author feel like she is a being living in the background of your main character’s world. Susan lives the story. She dives deep into the telling with the author and the reader, always with the goal of sharing the best rendering with all involved. I would highly recommend Susan as an editor and reviewer since she makes it feel like a partnership and not a business venture.

I have had the pleasure of working with Susan on my website and email communication. She is professional, prompt, and easy to work with. I am 100% satisfied with her work as well as her work ethic. I have every confidence that Susan will be my go-to for future projects.
